Red Rose Cafe
The Red Rose Cafe first opened in 1928, serving locals and travellers from its main street location. Professionals Guillermo and Barbara took over in 2007, and along with wonderful food, they brought an infusion of new ideas and friendly customer service, quickly making an impression with their 20 celebrated years experience and the simple but effective philosophy: great food, great customer service; and it must be clean!
Really, the cafe is now much more than that. Popular for its early start, with Italian coffee, your fave breakfast aromas and interesting music beckoning. There are big serves of all-day-everything... with healthy modern blackboard options changing regularly. There is an in-house chef, but cakes are brought in, and they are the most generous, appealing, mouth watering and interesting creations you will ever eat! Classic favourites are given such new life, you discover them all over again!
The Cafe has a cosmopolitan ambience with the original vintage booths and French Bistro outdoor seating; seriously great music at just the right volume; a wall-full of quality second hand books (for sale); and a large flat screen with TXT making this a great place to be.
These 2011 Moruya Best Restaurant/Cafe and Best Business award winners have won community support also for opening one night monthly, in conjunction with St John’s Anglican Church (many local volunteers are involved) to those unable to afford such treats. This says a lot about how Guillermo and Barbara feel about customers...and it shows!
